Oracle BI Solutions & Technology

Oracle BI offerings focuses on pre-built BI Solutions and the underlying BI/DW technology.

1. Oracle BI Solutions can be classified under the two major categories BI Applications and the Performance Management applications.

1.1 BI Applications (formerly Siebel Analytics) are pre-built Out-of-the-Box analytics application with data being fed from the the Oracle ERP suite such as E-Business suite, People soft, Siebel, and JD Edwards. It delivers intuitive and role-based intelligence for everyone in the organization.

- BI Apps are developed using the OBI technology
- ETL scripts, BI Report & Dashboards, Data Warehouse repository and the Metadata repositories are delivered using the OBI technology offerings (exception is ETL, it uses Informatica)

1.2 Performance Management (formerly Hyperion) are integrated applications that support the entire financial management cycle of goal-setting, modeling, planning, monitoring, analysis, and reporting.

2. Oracle BI technology includes the following Data Warehousing and BI Foundation & Tools

2.1 Data Warehousing tools includes ETL tool and the Oracle Database with Data mining, OLAP and database partitioning option.

2.2 Oracle BI Foundation & tools includes the comprehensive suite of enterprise BI products aka OBIEE Plus and Hyperion Essbase System 9 tools
